Economy: GDP growth should remain robust, largely as a result of high oil prices and the associated regional boom. Domestic demand will be supported by strong public sector spending growth, and rising employment in the areas of banking, aluminum output, and tourism, continue to expand as new construction projects come on stream. Real GDP growth is forecast to slow gradually, from 7% in 2007 to 5.1% by 2012, as oil prices decline and regional demand softens.
